From 2016 to 2020, I lived in a communal living apartment in San Francisco called the Hobbit Hole. Those four years were very formative years in terms of my personal and professional growth. I cherish and am grateful for the community around the Hobbit Hole where many friendships blossomed, careers were started, companies developed, performance projects like Backyard Theater were inagurated. We had a whole host of characters live at the Hobbit Hole over its 10 year lifespan, and a wide array of wonderful Hobbit Hole associates who frequented dinners and parties we threw. I made this site, and a set of ceramic tiles with desings seen in the site’s background image, as a tribute to that community and a way to preserve its formation, history and evolution.
